Procedure: Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass, March 2010
Result: weight loss of 175 pounds
In January of 2010 I was a 35 year-old firefighter and weighed 350 pounds. I was depressed, out of shape and on the verge of losing my life to obesity. I had high blood pressure, sleep apnea, high cholesterol and borderline diabetes. When I began to investigate weight-loss surgery I found Dr. Dillawn and was amazed at how easily I was able to schedule an appointment and get more information about the procedures.
In March of 2010 after my laparoscopic gastric bypass my new life began. This procedure was a tool, but exercise was the key to my successful weight-loss. I began to walk 30 to 60 minutes a day and followed the diet recommended by Dr. Dillawn and his staff. After six months, I was down to 200 pounds! My goal weight was 175 pounds and I was determined to get there, and by January of 2011 I did.
After I met my weight goal, I began to want more for my new active lifestyle so I challenged myself to run a half marathon. In January of 2012 I completed one in one hour, 52 minutes and 50 seconds. Words can't begin to describe the new life I have now.
The key to my success was not just me, but Dr. Dillawn and his staff. I can't begin to explain the attention to detail they gave me to have a successful outcome with my weight-loss surgery.
